Graphic visualization of a rich piano roll score

Piano roll score

Our work in MIR techniques for jazz will use piano rolls, a common type of MIR visualization, to represent and analyze the musical events and structure in a jazz audio. Digital piano rolls show only specific exact pitches and the duration of each pitch, bracketing out other sound parameters such as loudness or timbre for the sake of analysis. This visualization shows a piano rolls for each instrument  in a typical jazz performance.
